Everything you need before your first shift.
Congratulations on landing your Divemaster internship on Evolution. You are now part of the crew.
Your first point of contact for any question is the intern who has been here longer than you. Any divemaster or instructor is happy to answer questions if you still need help. For anything safety-critical, find today's Deck Supervisor.
Pursers and the Customer Service Agent sit outside this hierarchy. They are support roles, not part of the dive crew structure.
This is a well-oiled operation. Everyone has a role, and right now, yours is clear.
Do not touch any ropes for your first two weeks, even if you have experience with ropes elsewhere. Wait until the captain explicitly gives you permission.
For your first two weeks, watch the back deck setup. Do not step in to help. The equipment is heavy and the process is specific. Watch until you know exactly what you are doing.
If a guest is upset or you do not know the answer to something, do not try to handle it alone. Find a more senior crew member every time. There is always someone nearby.
You're about to face four real moments from life on Evolution. Make decisions like a great intern would.
